Project Impact

Business Requirement

The client required accurate site documentation to support the planning and deployment of a funicular system for visitor movement up the mountain, along the existing 1,000-step staircase.

Proposed Solution

3D laser scanning was carried out along the temple staircase, including a 10 m buffer area on both sides. The survey captured the existing slope, path curvature, contours, and surrounding conditions required for structural support planning and engineering of the proposed funicular system.

Challenges Faced

Heavy crowd movement, steep slopes, and difficult terrain made the scanning and DGPS survey activities challenging. Careful execution was required to capture reliable data across the entire survey area.

Outcome

Delivery of accurate 3D survey data and as-built drawings covering the staircase, surrounding buffer areas, contours, and site conditions, providing a reliable base for funicular system planning and structural design.
