The client required accurate site data to support the installation of a new building structure within the existing plant area.
Proposed Solution
3D laser scanning was carried out across the outer area of the proposed installation zone using Lidar technology. The captured point cloud data was processed in FARO SCENE to provide an accurate digital representation of the existing site conditions.
Challenges Faced
High temperatures during afternoon hours made on-site scanning challenging. Continuous movement of cars and trucks near the machine also introduced significant noise into the scan data, requiring additional point cloud cleaning and processing to achieve a usable dataset.
Outcome
Delivery of a cleaned and accurate point cloud of the existing outer area, providing reliable site information to support the installation of the new building structure.
