Business Requirement
The client, a hotelier in Galibeedu, Madikeri, required mapping of a 28-acre land
parcel, including topography, contour survey, tree girth diameter, and foliage and
species survey to support site planning.
Proposed Solution
We deployed a handheld Emesent Hovermap ST-X LiDAR scanner along with DGPS
to carry out the survey. This combination allowed us to capture accurate topographic
and contour data across the sloped terrain while also recording tree positions, girth
diameter, and foliage and species details across the property.
Challenges Faced
The site had uneven, sloped terrain that made movement and equipment handling
difficult. The dense vegetation brought added risks from insects, snakes, and wild
animals during fieldwork. Rainy season conditions also turned much of the terrain
muddy, further complicating access and survey work.
Outcome
The project was delivered successfully with all deliverables completed, giving the
client accurate topographic, contour, and vegetation data for the 28-acre property.
